About Spring

Standing

I had the windiest of walks

sunset is when the trees dance and the wind talks

And I love the spring trees

frothy and pink

I could eat their blossoms

until the taste of earth sinks deep inside me

until I realize that I, too, am buried deep within its roots

just as deserving and undeserving as any other human being

to know my worth

to have my feet here, planted and standing
