Inspiration and Goals
Reaching our goals gives us a sense of completion and satisfaction that is unequaled by anything else. That is the reason we keep going and going; that is the reason we are driven to continue powering through the cycle.
Inspiration – it guides us in everything that we do. It is what drives poets, singers, artists, actors, and painters. It drives the rest of us, as well. It drives us to create; it drives us to repaint our houses; it drives us to cook elaborate dinners for our families; it drives us. We all have different goals that we strive to reach, and there are different things that can inspire us all to achieve these different goals .
Sobriety
Some people have been inspired to give up drugs and/or alcohol. Quite likely because of the times they woke up the next morning in need of hangover pills . There are things that can keep them inspired so that they can maintain their sobriety. One of these things might be their family and friends. Another might be sobriety quotes . Whatever works, it is well worth it to remain sober.
Weight Loss
Some of us have weight loss goals. Maybe our last check-up at the doctor did not go so well and we want to lose weight for health reasons. Maybe we have a wedding, a party, or some other special event coming up for which we want to look amazing. Maybe we just don’t like the way we feel and want to eat healthier and feel better. Any of those things can be inspiring enough to us to help us lose weight, exercise more, and eat healthier.
Career Goals
Others of us may have work and career-related goals. We may be seeking to get a promotion, a raise, or even just a better office. Many things can inspire us to set these types of goals and strive to reach them. We all know that money can’t buy happiness, but we also know that money makes the world go ’round, and there are many reasons for needing more money – an impending marriage, a new baby on the way, wanting to buy a new house, and an upcoming medical procedure, just to name a few.
Smaller Goals Are Still Important
Sometimes our goals can be smaller, less prestigious, but that does not make them any less important. For instance, maybe a weekend goal is to clean your entire house. Coming home to a dirty, disheveled house can be a huge motivator to reaching your house cleaning goals. Perhaps your weekend goal is to repaint your house. There could be many different inspirations for this goal. Perhaps you’ve been looking at Pinterest or flipping through Better Homes and Gardens all week and have decided your home needs a new look.
Inspiration
Actors, musicians, and artists are not the only people who can be inspired to create works of art, either. Whether or not we are famous, many of us have beautiful art inside of us, and sometimes it doesn’t take a lot of inspiration to get it to come out into the light. A vibrant sunrise, a snippet of birdsong drifting through the wind, a glimpse of a gorgeous woman – all of these things can inspire us to create art.
These are only a very few of the goals and inspirations that drive us on a daily basis. Reaching goals , even something as simple as keeping up with your routine can be difficult, and it can take a lot of work. People work hard for years – decades even, in some cases – to reach their goals in life, and often, once they have reached them, they set new goals for themselves almost immediately and start working hard to achieve those goals, as well. It is a continuous cycle of setting goals, working hard, achieving goals, and then starting all over again.
Why do we do it to ourselves? Why keep setting newer and harder to achieve goals every time we reach one? Is it because we are never satisfied with what we have? Or is it more likely that we just enjoy achieving our goals because doing so makes us feel proud, confident, and successful? Reaching our goals gives us a sense of completion and satisfaction that is unequaled by anything else. That is the reason we keep going and going; that is the reason we are driven to continue powering through the cycle.
