For every Instagram loving, Starbucks drinking millennial, horoscopes are a sort of ritual. They dictate love lives, decision making, and outfit choices every day. Any astrology lover knows that each zodiac sign is accompanied by a specific set of personality traits and behaviors that make them unique from the other 11 signs.
What’s less known is the prevalence of each sign is in the US. The population is far from equally distributed across the different signs. Some signs are much rarer than others. Wondering how common your sign is? Look no further. Framebridge recently mapped out the most and least common zodiac sign in each US state so astrology lovers everywhere can determine which state to visit to find their people.
Cancers Are by Far the Most Common
In 25 of the 50 states, Cancer is the most popular zodiac sign. Summer solstice babies are apparently the most common, meaning if cancer is a sign you’re compatible with – you’re in luck. Scorpios, Pisces, and Tauruses are the signs that vibe well with Cancers, meaning they probably have a much easier time making friends and finding partners, at least in half of the states.
Other Popular Signs Are Virgos, Libras, and Aries
If Cancer isn’t the most popular sign in your state, it’s probably Virgo. The two of these signs are the most popular in the wide majority of the US – 47 of the 50 states to be exact. The only states that steer away from this trend are Mississippi, Georgia, and Virginia. If you’re searching for a Libra or Aries, these are the states you’ll have better luck in.
Capricorns Are the Rarest
If you’re a Capricorn you are among a rare group. Late December through January babies are the least common in nearly 80% of America. Among this rare group is Michelle Obama, so while there may not be a lot of company for Capricorns – the people in their group are among the most elite. Capricorns are a special breed, characterized by extreme passion, dedication, and patience.
Geminis, Tauruses, and Pisces Are Also Few and Far Between
Much of the South diverges from the trend of minimal Capricorns. Pisces and Tauruses are each the rarest in 5 and 6 states, respectively. Geminis are underrepresented only in Hawaii. For these signs, finding an astrological doppelganger may be a little more challenging than it is for Cancers.
